The Election Voting Committee (EVC) is pleased to announce that the BSW Board of Directors approved all five recommendations presented at the July 8, 2026 BSW monthly Board meeting. These approved recommendations represent important steps toward modernizing and simplifying the election process for our community.
The Board approved the following:
Implementation of electronic voting for future community elections
Elimination of proxy voting
Elimination of in-person voting at Annual Meetings
Election of Board Officers by the elected Board members
Modification of quorum requirements to allow electronic votes to count toward quorum
The EVC is now preparing informational materials to help homeowners understand these changes and what to expect moving forward. These materials will be shared at the upcoming Town Hall meetings.

The intent of eliminating proxies is not to reduce homeowner participation, but to promote direct participation by every homeowner while creating a simpler, more transparent and equitable election process. Electronic voting provides the convenience that proxies historically supplied, while allowing each homeowner to retain control of their own vote.
